The RoleThe Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Operator / Technician is responsible for safely executing hands-on field activities related to pipeline pre-commissioning operations, including flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen purging, and intelligent pigging. The role requires operational knowledge of equipment setup, pig loading, chemical injection systems, and nitrogen membrane units.
Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas- Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of the pre-commissioning spread, including :
- Suction / lift pumps, filtration skids, break tanks
- Hydrotest pumps and chemical dosing units
- Nitrogen membrane units, air dryers, and compressors
- Load and launch pigs and ILI tools from PLRs (Pig Launcher / Receivers).
- Monitor flow, pressure, and chemical dosage as per operational instructions.
- Record field data for pressure, chemical injection, water sampling, and pig tracking.
- Support pig tracking using EM receivers and magnetic detection systems.
- Participate in toolbox talks, JSAs, and follow all site HSE procedures strictly.
- Communicate equipment issues or operational deviations to the Supervisor.
- Assist in the general maintenance and cleaning of equipment post-operation.
- 5+ years of experience in pipeline pre-commissioning or related oil & gas field operations.
- Hands-on experience operating pumps, compressors, or nitrogen units preferred.
- Familiar with pigging operations and field instrumentation.
- Basic understanding of chemical dosing and safety requirements.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in remote, challenging environments.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- High level of safety awareness and procedural discipline.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and in offshore conditions.
