Site Lifting Specialist

The position is based in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas company.
Responsibilities- Provide technical expertise in daily handling and lifting activities, including categorization of lifts.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification in line with the criticality of lifting operations.
- Select appropriate equipment for lifting operations.
- Attend lifting toolbox talks when on site.
- Conduct post‑job debriefs and assess completed jobs.
- Promote safe handling and lifting operations in line with HSE policies and internationally recognized standards.
- Review engineering calculations and provide technical feedback for complicated and complex lifting activities.
- Review complex lift plans and attend critical lifting activities to ensure safe execution.
- Perform condition and compliance checks, fitness‑for‑purpose reviews on lifting appliances, accessories, and CCUs, and evaluate acceptance based on utilization.
- Participate in internal audits of lifting operations, incident investigations, and analyses, and provide support for FMA when required.
- Position is based offshore.
- Possibility of onshore missions to follow up on project development and execution with various contractors.
- Requires cooperation with discipline leads and supervisors to monitor offshore preparation readiness and progress.
- Minimum 10 years in lifting and handling industry at a supervisory level.
- Offshore jacket/topside installation experience preferred.
- Technical Engineer and/or industry‑related qualifications such as OPITO, LEEA, EAL, CPA, etc.
- Broad and extensive knowledge in handling and lifting appliances and operations.
- Familiarity with international standards such as BS, LOLER, etc.
- Experience in Oil & Gas industry.
- Worked in both onshore and offshore operations.
- Previous roles such as Rigger, Rigger Foreman, Rigging Supervisor, Lifting Supervisor, or Lifting Superintendent.
- Strong focus on health, safety, and environment.
- Experience supervising critical and heavy lifts.
- Ability to plan and execute critical and non‑critical lifts.
- Completion of T‑BOSIET training.
