Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and other specialized electrical installations for building projects.
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
- Specify materials and components, including cables, transformers, panels, and switch gear.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the building design.
- Conduct site assessments to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Work closely with contractors and other teams during construction and installation to ensure designs are properly implemented.
- Assist with project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
- Perform electrical load calculations and energy analysis to optimize design efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure all designs meet local codes, standards (such as IEC, NEC), and client specifications.
- Conduct regular design reviews and ensure designs comply with environmental and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure designs remain cutting‑edge and compliant.
- Resolve any electrical design‑related issues that arise during construction or operation.
- Offer solutions to challenges in electrical system integration, functionality, or cost efficiency.
- Current valid Grade A UDPA/MMUP Certification is essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design engineering, specifically within the building services sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit, Dialux, or similar tools).
- Familiarity with building regulations, safety standards, and electrical codes (NEC, BS7671, etc.).
- Previous experience with entertainment projects is essential.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, emergency systems, and renewable energy integration.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
- Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., IET, CIBSE, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Conversant with all Revit onboard tools, preferably experienced in the use of Revit as a Design Tool.
- Knowledge of energy‑efficient and sustainable electrical systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
