Parsons is seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer (Design) to join our team in Qatar. The role involves leading complex drainage design projects, applying advanced engineering techniques and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Civil and transport infrastructure drainage design
- Detailed analysis and review of hydrological and hydraulic models
- Provide technical design expertise for drainage and stormwater quality systems, including piped networks and transverse drainage structures
- Hydraulic and system design of complex environments to meet site‑specific requirements
- Apply knowledge of biological and physical stormwater management processes
- Employ innovative technologies and value‑engineering solutions
- Supervise and mentor intermediate and junior engineers
- Undertake hydrologic modelling, calculations, drawings, report writing, design review, and supervision
- Lead projects, build client relationships, and secure design approvals
- Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3‑D modelling teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Environmental Engineering
- Master’s Degree in Water Engineering/Hydrology is an advantage
- Minimum 10 years of experience in water engineering, including stormwater drainage design on civil and transport projects
- Minimum 6 years of UAE/GCC experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics principles
- Proficient in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling/design software (CAD, SWMM, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS)
- Compulsory experience with Infoworks ICM, 1D/2D
- Expertise in GIS and CAD tools such as Arc Map, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station
- Ability to produce calculation sheets and verify design adequacy
- Knowledge of Water Sensitive Design and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and teamwork skills
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualification or progression toward it
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects within timelines
