Senior Mechanical Engineer – Design and Supervision (MMUP‑Grade A is mandatory)

• The Senior Mechanical Engineer
  - Design
  - Supervision, shall contribute to manage and execute contracts that includes design, supervision, design verification, coordination, testing and commissioning of the works, with emphasis on meeting the contract requirements with respect to quality, time and budget; during the design, construction and completion phases of major building projects.
• Ability to design and detail Air Conditioning systems and installations for various building facilities, from individual villas to multi‑story buildings, industrial buildings, institutional buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.
• Ability to design and detail Fire Fighting systems and installations for various building facilities, including multi‑story buildings, industrial buildings, institutional buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.
• Ability to design and detail Plumbing, Drainage and Mechanical installations for various building facilities, from individual villas to multi‑story buildings, industrial buildings, institutional buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.
• Ability to perform MEP coordination with other discipline engineering by modelling, detailing, resolving clashes and mismatching and issue coordinated IFC models/drawings for various building facilities, from individual villas to multi‑story buildings, industrial buildings, institutional buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, etc.
• Contribute into design, coordination and technical review meetings
• Knowledgeable and Conversant with the Civil Defense and Ashghal requirements those relevant to the design and detailing scope listed under bullets 1 to 4.
• Contribute into project planning, progress and technical review meetings
• Implement procedures for inspection approvals, testing, commissioning in accordance with the requirements of the contract and ensure the implementation of those procedures by inspection team
• Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Review method statements and monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual HSE plan / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
• Maintain records for activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
• Review and comments changes and variations to scope, specification and schedule as raised by Contractor
• Liaison and coordination with other Engineers in the design office for effective coordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines
• Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and nonconformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
• Follow-up to ensure the Contractor liaises with service and other authorities in a timely manner. Liaison with officials of involved Government Ministries/Departments for approvals
• Review and comment submission related to interim and final payments
• Review and comment submitted Contractor's mark-up and as-built drawings
• Contribute in technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues that may arise on site

• • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (No Diploma is acceptable).
• • A Minimum of 10 years' experience (5 years in the field), at least 3 years' experience in Qatar or GCC region.
• • MME Grade A Certification is mandatory requirement and chartered status is an advantage.
• • Competent in using computer software for analysis and design of the Mechanical and HVAC Systems.
• • Preferred in-depth knowledge of software includes but is not limited to Carrier-E-20 for Heat/Cooling Load Calculation and ELITE 6.03 for Hydraulic Calculation for Fire Sprinklers.
