Job DescriptionAbout the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group Aeropolitical and Corporate Affairs Department as Lead Aeropolitical & Corp Sustainability Officer. This role will support the collection of data and preparation of the Qatar Airways Group Sustainability Report, maintain the Group's Environmental Management System, and provide expertise during the development of environmental sustainability e‑learning.
Responsibilities- Prepare the Qatar Airways Group Sustainability Report by collating required information from internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to projects by defining scope, benchmarking sustainability, and researching, analysing and documenting relevant information to incorporate into the Group's sustainability strategy.
- Collate and analyse data for preparing CORSIA and carbon footprint reports.
- Support the Manager of Corporate and Environment Affairs in collecting, collating and verifying environmental monitoring data using relevant databases for all sustainability reporting.
- Maintain the Qatar Airways Group Environmental Management System (EMS) Manual, Standards and Procedures, implementing improvements to ensure effective EMS processes across the Group.
- Plan, review and maintain EMS documentation, following document control processes to ensure adequacy and compliance with IEnvA requirements, including legal registers and communications plans.
- Support the roll‑out of all sustainability e‑learning modules, formulating and implementing e‑learning and delivering training across the Group on environmental sustainability issues.
- Implement sustainable activities such as recycling, energy efficiency and water conservation by analysing current policies, costs and benefits.
- Investigate environmental non‑conformances, determine root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Facilitate various Environmental Action Group meetings by preparing materials, scheduling, and recording minutes.
- Implement EMS for new scope areas by following the Environmental Management Plan process to meet all IEnvA accreditation requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job‑related experience.
- Experience managing environmental projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Engagement with stakeholders in the development of sustainability reports.
- Experience in CORSIA and/or ETS.
- Detailed knowledge of Environmental Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of environmental risk assessment.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Ability to interpret and integrate technical data with integrity.
- Knowledge of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Airline or airport industry experience.
