Sr. Principal Reservoir Engineer
Primary Purpose of the Job
Initiate, lead and contribute in activities to optimize Qatar Energy’s Operated Onshore Oilfields including the coordination, preparation and optimization of the Long-Term Plan and facilitation and support of the Asset Management Team meetings and processes. Lead and participate in activities including internal economic assessments, manage department budgets, coordinate ad-hoc activities / studies and lead improvements in processes / tools to support asset optimization.
Participate in conceptual / integrated development studies for Asset and participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams / reviews. Champion & promote technical excellence, staff coaching / mentoring / development.
Required
- Minimum of BSc in Engineering / Petroleum Engineering / Applied Sciences or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years (preferably 20+ years) of work experience as a Reservoir in the Oil & Gas industry with demonstrated Asset Management, Reservoir studies, reservoir development and performance optimization expertise in mature large oil and gas fields.
- Experience working on managing mature oil fields under water flood.
- Significant expertise in field development concepts and scenarios assessment.
- Direct experience in working within and for Asset Management Teams
- Direct experience in developing Long Term Plans
- Broad knowledge / experience of Drilling, Operations, Operations Excellence frameworks, Surface Facilities, Projects and Project maturation frameworks
- Significant experience in infill drilling and workover planning with a detailed understanding of surveillance and performance optimization
- Excellent teamwork and experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication with peers, less experienced staff, and management.
- Experience in leading and driving studies / work programs.
- Significant skill in effectively working across organizational boundaries.
- Experience in numerical reservoir simulation (studies and field development planning)
- Expertise in uncertainty analysis and risk assessment/management.
- Strong understanding of PDMS / SCADA systems and workflows
