Mechanical & Piping Engineer
Our client, a leading multinational engineering company involved in major Oil & Gas projects, is seeking a Mechanical & Piping Engineer to provide engineering advisory, design services, and technical support across a variety of projects. This role involves preparing conceptual designs, reviewing FEED and detailed engineering deliverables, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. The successful candidate will interface with internal teams, consultants, and contractors, ensuring mechanical and piping solutions are robust, efficient, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities- Review, author, and compile engineering scopes of work, design basis, and deliverables including feasibility studies, concepts, and FEED packages.
- Determine and review mechanical equipment calculations (HVAC, piping, rotary equipment) for modifications and new projects in line with management of change processes.
- Prepare, review, and finalize concept studies and ensure accuracy and quality of FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning deliverables.
- Interface with third parties including engineering consultants, contractors, suppliers, inspection agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Provide technical support for bidder evaluations, material requisitions, construction methods, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Review and witness Factory and Site Acceptance Tests (FAT/SAT), inspect equipment installations, and issue non‑conformance reports as necessary.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering exercises, HAZOP/HAZAN risk assessments, and project risk studies.
- Review and update mechanical engineering standards to align with international and local standards.
- Contribute to department policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to ORYX GTL safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical and piping engineering design, preferably in oil & gas, industrial, or process plant environments.
- Strong knowledge of FEED, DED, PIC, and related engineering deliverables.
- Experience with mechanical equipment calculations, design reviews, and site inspections.
- Familiarity with international engineering standards and local regulations.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and technical advisory skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
