Position: Sr Mechanical Engineer (Materials & Corrosion)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
  • Ensure the required Company technical framework including QHSE, environmental and local regulation, assurance practices, engineering standards, personal safety and process safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work-scopes and whilst conducting Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities.
  • Also, review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
  • Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply Company standards and Company's amendments to external standards.
  • Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
  • Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance.
  • Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
  • Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
  • Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices.
  • Support the development of personal technical competency and skills, and those of Coworkers.
  • Participate in structured training for Associate, Qatari Engineers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience, of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry.
  • Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.
  • Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
Compensation
  • Salary: Day Rate in QAR Plus Allowance
  • Work Schedule: 8 Hours / 5 Days
  • Duration: 2 years, renewable
  • Location: Qatar
