Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning Engineer with strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, and project controls for major construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing and managing project programs, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery in accordance with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and manage the baseline program using Primavera P6.
  • Prepare detailed project schedules, resource loading, manpower histograms, equipment plans, and cash flow projections.
  • Track and analyze project progress; identify delays and prepare mitigation/recovery plans.
  • Prepare accurate weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, KPIs, and S‑curves.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, QS, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Conduct site visits to verify progress and compliance with schedule.
  • Prepare delay analysis, EOT claims, As‑Planned vs As‑Built comparison, and Time Impact Analysis.
  • Review subcontractors' schedules, procurement schedules, lookahead schedules, and technical submissions.
  • Participate in internal and external progress meetings with clients/consultants.
  • Ensure all planning deliverables comply with contractual obligations and project specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical).
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Planning/Project Controls within the construction industry (Qatar/GCC experience preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Excel.
  • Experience with major projects: high‑rise buildings, infrastructure, mixed‑use developments, industrial plants, or MEP‑heavy projects.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, BOQ, specifications, drawings, and construction sequences.
  • Experience in EOT claims, forensic delay analysis, and schedule risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and report‑writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
