Join our offshore project team and contribute to survey and positioning activities for a major EPC offshore project in Qatar.
Responsibilities- Work within the Project Team and assist in identifying the best technical survey solutions.
- Define positional, angular, and dimensional accuracy requirements and communicate positioning limitations to Engineering.
- Assist in tender and contract evaluations and support survey-related proposals.
- Plan offshore survey operations and compile survey documentation, procedures, and scopes of work.
- Determine overall Survey and Positioning methodologies for project execution.
- Review engineering documents and technical requirements.
- Define survey personnel manning levels and equipment requirements.
- Coordinate with ROV teams to ensure appropriate equipment selection and task execution.
- Prepare survey and positioning costs, budgets, and requisitions for rented survey equipment.
- Act as the focal point for survey and positioning matters and offshore survey personnel.
- Manage survey subcontractors and monitor progress to prevent non-conformities.
- Perform Quality Control and approve subcontractor survey operations and reports.
- Ensure correct survey deliverables and data formats, and supervise office-based reporting and charting activities.
- Review and QC as-built data and final reports through the complete review cycle.
- Maintain records related to survey and positioning costs and budgets.
- Support tendering phases, including review of tender budgets prior to operations.
- Assist in preparing survey and positioning service agreements and quality documents.
- Maintain awareness of new survey technologies that may enhance operations.
- Perform all activities in compliance with company procedures, HSE policies, and work instructions.
- Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Engineering, Geosciences, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven practical experience in Survey and Positioning activities within offshore operations.
- Experience with geophysical and geotechnical surveys, data acquisition, and reporting.
- Ability to manage survey instrumentation, calibration, and environmental effect assessments.
- Knowledge of survey tools such as GNSS, Total Station, Theodolite, Laser Scanner, and Optical Level.
- Capability to perform subsea pipeline and survey data processing using appropriate software tools.
- Understanding of maritime works phases and offshore construction techniques.
- Experience in subcontractor management, monitoring quantities and costs.
- Knowledge of HSE risk management, Permit to Work systems, and safe working practices.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to develop procedures, and support continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with Quality Management principles and Quality Control plans.
