Job Description
Qatar Airways is seeking a Production Control Engineer Level I for its Technical Engineering team in Doha, Qatar. The role requires thorough technical preparation and coordination of scheduled maintenance layovers, ensuring the completion of Production Planning tasks and optimum use of ground time and resources.
Responsibilities- Review all planned Line & Base inputs and arrange with Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Fleet Planning, shops and Scheduling to ensure smooth maintenance execution.
- Monitor practical project plan execution for C‑Checks, A‑Checks, Line Checks, Modifications and certain Special checks, considering capacity, ground time and tooling availability; provide daily updates to reflect progress.
- Serve as focal point for major checks and modifications; conduct daily progress meetings, highlight downtime risks and circulate status reports.
- Follow up on and resolve issues arising during planned or unplanned maintenance.
- Review open Tech Log defects assigned in the Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning System (AMPPS) or TRAX and take necessary actions for timely resolution.
- Coordinate resolution of defects loaded during Line & Base Maintenance, positioning required parts and tooling in the hangar or aircraft location.
- Review completed packages and forward to Fleet Planning.
- Adjust work scope for last‑minute changes to Line & Base input forecasts/schedules, aligning with available capacity and aircraft ground time.
- Participate as part of the Qatar Airways Representative team during outsourced maintenance when required.
- High School Diploma/Vocational Qualification (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of job‑related experience OR Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of job‑related experience.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations (Part 145, Part M).
- General knowledge of aircraft and engine systems.
- Proficient computer skills, especially MS Office.
- Strong technical communication skills.
- Command of the English language.
