Job DescriptionThe Planning Engineer Works is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems. The role ensures all MEP activities are properly planned, coordinated, and executed according to the project timeline, resources, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for MEP works using industry-standard tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the schedule, and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment of schedules and resources.
- Develop short-term and long-term work plans, milestone tracking, and resource allocation strategies.
- Prepare progress reports, delay analysis, and recovery plans for management review.
- Support project risk management by identifying potential scheduling risks and mitigation measures.
- Participate in project meetings to provide schedule updates and planning input.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and company policies.
- Assist in planning for manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize project efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling MEP works in Qatar or the GCC.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction methods, and sequencing.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local codes, standards, and project execution methodologies is an advantage.
