SR. MECHANICAL ENGINEER (ROTATING EQUIPMENT)
Location: Qatar
Duration: Until 2030
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
- Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
- Minimum 10 years of relevant post‑graduate experience in the Oil & Gas industry, of which 6 years should be in Rotating Equipment Engineering
- Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Rotating Equipment Engineering
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multiple‑project environment
- Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Rotating Equipment Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, achieving technical quality of work in accordance with procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE
- Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities and in‑house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning
- Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work‑scopes and whilst conducting Rotating Equipment Engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices
- Support Engineering Department to review, update, and apply standards and amendments to external standards
- Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidisciplinary engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements
- Coordinate engineering designs, develop and review multidisciplinary work‑scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the work‑scope is comprehensive and clear
- Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues
- Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in‑house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery
- Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance
- Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices
- Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of co‑workers. Participate in structured training for Associate Engineers
