Static Equipment Lead

Overview

Our client, major LNG Operator in Qatar, is hiring for Static Equipment Lead to work on a major offshore project (Offshore Brownfield & Greenfield scope). This is a contract and residential role based in Qatar with initial contract duration of 3 years (renewable).

• Lead static equipment/mechanical activities for a major offshore expansion project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g., specifications, data sheets) fully comply with deliverables and standardized processes. Provide design support to the Engineering Manager, ensuring high-quality execution of all project elements.
• The Static Equipment Lead will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on mechanical/static equipment. The role ensures design of mechanical equipment, and compliance with Company and international standards to enhance asset reliability and safety.
• Participate in key design workshops and ensure that recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed (3D model review, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, engineering criticality assessment, etc.).
• Support Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring the contractor’s progress on delivery of the required Static Equipment documents for Topsides and Pipeline disciplines.
• Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respective disciplines involved in delivery of the mechanical equipment, and ensure endorsement of Technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
• Supervise and manage Engineering interface for mechanical equipment for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) with Operations, the pipelines from the topsides perspective, and the Onshore Project Team.

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as Mechanical Engineer in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry and having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.

  • Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
