The Assistant Social Worker is a collaborative and supportive member who typically aids Clinical Social Workers and MDTs by preparing intakes, performing mental health assessments, assisting with research, and performing therapeutic interventions appropriate to their level of competence and knowledge under direct supervision of a licensed Clinical Social Worker. Clinical interventions shall be provided under MDT Lead clinical supervision. This job requires the jobholder to work with cross-functional teams and follow Clinical Evidence Based Models as needed.
JobSpecific Accountabilities
An Assistant Social Worker is a health care professional who under supervision provides clinical social services including psychosocial interventions for patients and their families experiencing from SUD. The Assistant Social Worker assume responsibility for the ethical, safe, and effective delivery of all social work services within his or her area of competence.
- Assist multidisciplinary team to engage patients, their families, and significant other supporters in treatment planning and progression through patient's recovery journey.
- Assist patients reintegrate into society and become self-sufficient.
- Assist in conducting clinical research, adding to the evidence base of practice in addictions and related areas.
- Strive to maintain and improve his/her professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Make use of supervision and consultation as indicated by the patient's needs.
- Preparing intake summaries and treatment plans.
- Carrying out related documentation.
- Collecting human subjects’ data for mental health-related research studies.
- Provides, under supervision, individual and group counselling and/or psychosocial interventions to children, adults, and families.
- Administrative work (filing cases, taking notes, taking meeting minutes, sending appointment letters, keeping detailed records of departmental work, monitoring, and inputting data onto a spreadsheet, etc.)
- To remain up to date on recent developments in the field of social work treatment and to adapt clinical practice to reflect evidence-based Patient’s care.
- Attend Naufar's mandatory training courses and specific training courses relevant to a certain scope of practice as supervisor nominates and work need requirements.
- Participate in internal or external educational activities programs, meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development as supervisor nominates.
- Fulfil continuing professional development requirements and participate in relevant learning opportunities like conferences or seminars to enhance personal expertise and apply that expertise to providing continuous quality improvement of patient care at Naufar Center.
- Bachelor’s Degree of Social Services.
- Eligible for clinical social worker trainee from the Licensing authority in the State of Qatar.
- At least 02 years hands on experience in a mental health or an SUD set up.
