Job Description
To work closely as a key member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team comprised of professionals including, but not limited to; medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, expressive arts psychotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and addiction counsellors. Patients under your care will have a history of substance-related and addictive disorders and co‑morbidity conditions such as persistent pain and diabetes. Key Accountabilities:
- To undertake structured interviews, physical assessments (including movement screens), and conduct exercise sessions of individuals and groups and track sessions in a comprehensive EMR system.
- To assist in the development of physical movement for use in the treatment of clinical problems associated with and arising from substance‑related and addictive disorders and co‑morbidity conditions. Treatment plans will be devised, updated, and conducted.
- To guide patients in developing skills and strategies for optimal movement patterns to improve quality of life.
- To assist in evaluating the effectiveness of counselling and movement programs in patient progress.
Professional/Academic
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (MSc) in Exercise Science.
- Licensed as an exercise physiologist, Kinesiologist, or exercise specialist in home country.
Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in a clinical, community, or academic setting that exposes the person to client groups and service settings directly relevant to human movement and activity prescription for wellness.
