Head of Information Security (Security Operations)

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Information Security to lead our Security Operations Center (SOC). In this critical role, you will spearhead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our information security frameworks, with a special emphasis on protecting our digital assets during both mega-events and standard business periods. You will be responsible for leading all daily SOC activities, from threat intelligence and detection to incident response and crisis management.

This position involves architecting and optimizing our SOC capabilities, integrating both IT and OT security monitoring, and ensuring a state of constant readiness. You will manage a talented team of security professionals, oversee the procurement of cutting‑edge technologies, and ensure strict compliance with international and regional governance frameworks. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of security and resilience across the organization.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the IT Security domain, with at least 5 years in a SOC leadership and management role.
• Proven expertise in designing, architecting, and optimizing SOC capabilities, including workflows, playbooks, and KPIs.
• Demonstrated experience in leading high‑severity incident response, digital forensics, and crisis management activities.
• Strong background in integrating security for both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments, including ICS/SCADA systems.
• Expert knowledge of implementing and ensuring compliance with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Hands‑on experience leading the full lifecycle of cybersecurity technology procurement, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, and contract management.
• In‑depth technical knowledge of security solutions such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
• Experience managing security operations for large‑scale public events or critical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with national cybersecurity frameworks, such as Qatar's NCSA.
• Proven ability to deliver clear, actionable security reports and briefings to executive leadership.
• Experience developing and delivering security training and awareness programs.
