Cloud Architect
We are seeking an expert Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of our cloud infrastructure for premier sports facilities and venues. This role is pivotal in engineering highly scalable and resilient ICT systems on Azure and GCP, capable of handling the massive traffic surges of mega sports events while maintaining efficiency during off-peak periods. You will be responsible for the entire systems delivery lifecycle, from architectural design using Infrastructure as Code to ensuring robust security and compliance.
The ideal candidate will leverage their deep technical expertise in multi-cloud environments to optimize performance, cost, and reliability. You will establish and manage monitoring processes, proactively solve complex issues, and automate tasks to ensure system stability. This position requires strong communication skills to document complex systems and collaborate with various stakeholders. Minimum of 8 years in IT, with at least 6 years in a dedicated Cloud Architect role
Qualifications- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing solutions on both Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Google Cloud Deployment Manager
- Strong experience in implementing cloud security controls, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), data encryption, and network security
- Advanced knowledge of cloud virtualization, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
- Experience in designing architectures for high‑traffic, scalable, and reliable environments
- Proven ability in cloud cost optimization and performance monitoring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of industry‑specific regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR)
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Power Shell or Python
