Network Engineer – Starlink Qatar
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our technology team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our core network infrastructure. You will ensure secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity across data centers, hybrid cloud environments, and large‑scale service deployments. A key focus will be monitoring and optimizing network performance, security, and resilience to support seamless interoperability between systems.
You will manage advanced routing, switching, and firewall configurations while developing strategies for network optimisation and capacity planning. This position requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure network architectures meet stringent performance, compliance, and scalability needs. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing network efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and security posture in a technologically advanced environment.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain core network infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimise network performance, security, and resilience.
- Manage routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Develop strategies for network optimisation and capacity planning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align network architecture with business goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for network efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and security.
- 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience in Layer 2/Layer 3 network design, implementation, and operations.
- Strong proficiency in routing, switching, SD‑WAN, and VPN technologies.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud‑native network architectures, including VNets, peering, private endpoints, and firewalls.
- Hands‑on experience with security platforms such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco ASA.
- Expertise in configuring and managing networking equipment from Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, and Aruba.
- In‑depth understanding of network security principles and zero‑trust segmentation.
- Demonstrated ability in load balancing, QoS tuning, and network performance optimisation.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Juniper JNCIP.
- Advanced cloud networking certifications, such as Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Experience with network automation and scripting using Python or Ansible.
- Expertise in capacity management and disaster recovery (BCP/DR) planning.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and observability tools.
- Prior exposure to government programmes or enterprise‑scale digital service platforms.
