Digital ASIC Design Manager – imec Qatar

Join imec Qatar as the Digital ASIC Design Manager, leading a team of design engineers building advanced semiconductor solutions.

You will be a technical IC Design leader building and leading a team of design engineers that will work in close cooperation with the design and PDK teams in Belgium. Your work will be instrumental in optimizing the imec design flow, the design of SoCs and the maturization of imec PDK’s.

• Lead and inspire a group of ASIC and PDK design experts
• Manage the resources of the team and follow up the work as to meet the set goals
• Foster communication and mutual learning within the group
• Onboard, coach and guide new team members
• Build a relationship and interface with imec management and radiate the strategy and goals to the team members
• Be the go-to person for day-to-day work content related questions
• Represent the group in management and resourcing meetings

• You are able to lead a team of highly educated design engineers and have shown that in earlier work experience
• You have at least 10 years of relevant mainly digital chip design experience
• You have a good understanding of the full mixed-signal ASIC design flow
• You are aware of the EDA tools and flows that are used in the ASIC design space
• Experience with D2D interfaces and protocols (e.g. UCIe) for high-performance data exchange between chiplets is an asset
• Knowledge of stringent requirements for automotive application e.g. functional safety (ISO 26262), reliability (AEC Q100) and cybersecurity is an asset
• You understand the importance of good documentation
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
