Role Overview
The CCTV and HCI Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing CCTV surveillance systems and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) to ensure high-availability video monitoring and core infrastructure services across SFM Sports Venues.
The role focuses on server, storage, clustering, database availability, and cloud integration to support secure, scalable video storage and retrieval, while ensuring compliance with security and data privacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities 1. CCTV System Management & Operations- Manage day-to-day operations of CCTV infrastructure, including servers, storage, software, and network components.
- Perform routine system health checks, patching, and updates on CCTV servers and storage platforms.
- Monitor performance using tools such as Windows Performance Monitor and SQL Server Management Studio
. - Troubleshoot hardware failures, network latency, and video management system (VMS) integration issues.
- Implement backup and recovery processes for video archives to prevent data loss.
- Design, deploy, and maintain HCI clusters supporting CCTV systems and core venue services.
- Configure and manage virtualization platforms such as Hyper‑V and VMware
. - Optimize compute, storage (SAN/NAS), and network resources for high‑volume video workloads.
- Perform firmware and software upgrades on HCI nodes.
- Ensure high availability, redundancy, and rapid failover for mission‑critical systems.
- Design and maintain Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) for CCTV and infrastructure servers.
- Configure and manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups supporting CCTV metadata and video systems.
- Conduct regular failover testing, disaster recovery drills, and RTO assessments.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for surveillance and infrastructure services.
- Administer Windows Server environments (2019/2022) hosting CCTV and HCI workloads.
- Manage Active Directory, Hyper‑V, and related Windows Server roles.
- Apply security hardening, GPOs, and encryption for video data at rest and in transit.
- Integrate systems with SIEM tools for centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Integrate CCTV and HCI platforms with cloud services for hybrid storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Manage cloud-based VMs and storage resources supporting surveillance workloads.
- Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid operating models.
- Ensure cloud security, compliance, and cost‑management policies are followed.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to CCTV and HCI infrastructure availability and security.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, local surveillance laws, and organizational policies
. - Collaborate with compliance teams to audit access logs and video data handling.
- Document incidents, root cause analyses, and remediation actions.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management.
- At least 2 years supporting CCTV, video surveillance systems, or HCI platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑availability and clustered environments
. - Experience working in 24/7 operational environments with on‑call support.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills under operational pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate - Microsoft Certified:
Azure Database Administrator Associate (preferred) - CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification
- SQL Server Always On Availability Groups – configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) – quorum, shared storage, and failover testing
- Windows Server 2019/2022 – Active Directory, Hyper‑V, Power Shell scripting
- Performance tuning for I/O‑intensive video workloads
- IP‑based CCTV technologies (e.g.,
ONVIF, RTSP
) - Network troubleshooting (VLANs, QoS for video traffic)
- Basic automation using Power Shell or Python
- Experience with Nutanix, VMware vSAN, or Azure Stack HCI is highly desirable
