Job DescriptionJob Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to manage and optimise our IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and support software deployment initiatives. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically adept, and able to lead IT operations while mentoring support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, maintain, and optimise servers, storage, and network infrastructure to ensure high availability.
Administer Azure and other cloud services, ensuring secure and reliable access.
Oversee database administration, including backups, recovery, and data integrity across critical systems.
Administer Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange, and user access control, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
Implement, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity solutions (e.g., Darktrace, endpoint protection, firewalls) and respond promptly to threats or incidents.
Support software development and deployment projects, including application setup, source code management, and collaboration with development teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues to minimise downtime and maintain system performance.
Develop, maintain, and update IT documentation, policies, and procedures.
Mentor and guide IT support staff to improve technical capabilities and team performance.
Proven experience in IT administration, server management, Azure services, and database management.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including LAN/WAN, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Experience with Active Directory, Exchange/Microsoft 365, and email security solutions.
Knowledge of cybersecurity solutions and threat monitoring tools (e.g., Darktrace or equivalent).
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in enterprise environments.

CCNA / Network+
ITIL Foundation
Cybersecurity certifications
