Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Blackboard Systems Consultant (Bilingual) to support, administer, and enhance the Blackboard learning management ecosystem. This role combines functional support, technical configuration, system integration, and training delivery, working closely with faculty, students, and administrative teams. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Blackboard Learn and related modules, along with excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.
Key Responsibilities
- Support faculty in designing and delivering engaging courseware aligned with learning objectives, while providing day-to-day functional support to students, faculty, and staff using Blackboard Learn, including integrations, content collection, outcomes, and collaboration tools.
- Respond to user inquiries related to access, accounts, and system issues, and conduct consultation sessions to assist faculty with course customization and implementation.
- Develop and maintain training materials, documentation, and video tutorials, as well as deliver face‑to‑face and remote training sessions based on instructional design principles.
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain Blackboard Learn and its associated products, apply patches and enhancements, and integrate Blackboard with other institutional systems.
- Analyze business and functional requirements, translate them into technical designs, and implement customized solutions that meet approved specifications.
- Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot the Blackboard environment, diagnose production issues, and perform root‑cause analysis in collaboration with database administrators, system administrators, and functional teams.
- Administer Blackboard security, implement role‑based access control, manage users and permissions, support architectural and performance improvements, create vendor support tickets, and participate in change management processes.
- Conduct application testing after fixes, patches, and upgrades, resolve technical issues related to configuration and performance, and maintain comprehensive technical, functional, and user documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
A Bachelor's degree in an IT‑related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Blackboard or learning management systems within higher‑education environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience in system administration, integrations, training delivery, and functional‑technical support, with applicable certifications considered an advantage.
Language Requirement
Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (reading and writing) is required.
