The Senior Enterprise Architect defines, leads, and governs the overall architecture of the organisation’s Information System. They ensure strategic alignment between business objectives, processes, and technology, designing a consistent, scalable, and sustainable target architecture of the systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Architecture Governance & Strategy
- Define the enterprise architecture vision (business, data, applications, infrastructure).
- Ensure consistency and integration of the Information System.
- Build and maintain technology roadmaps and strategic capital improvement plans.
- Establish and enforce architecture frameworks.
- Map business processes, applications, data flows, and infrastructure components.
- Identify redundancies, obsolete systems, technical risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support major transformation programs: digital transformation, cloud migration, Information System urbanisation, cybersecurity initiatives.
- Define technical and functional standards across the enterprise.
- Validate the choices on technology, application, and infrastructure.
- Ensure all projects comply with enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Act as a key liaison between executives, departments, IT teams, data teams, cybersecurity, and external vendors.
- Prepare decision‑making documents for senior management (ROI, risk assessments, architecture scenarios).
- Guide and coach teams to ensure a clear understanding of architectural decisions.
- Conduct technology watch:
Cloud, AI, Big Data, cybersecurity, IoT, automation. - Identify innovation opportunities to enhance business efficiency and performance.
- Promote architectural best practices, standards, and methodologies.
- Strong mastery of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Archi Mate).
- Expertise in application architectures (microservices, APIs, containers).
- Solid knowledge of data architecture: SQL/No
SQL, data governance, data modelling. - Advanced understanding of cybersecurity, IAM, Zero‑Trust models.
- Familiarity with infrastructure fundamentals: networking, virtualization, storage, Dev Ops practices.
- Knowledge on Cloud Architectures.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Leadership and ability to influence across teams.
- Excellent communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Long‑term strategic vision.
- Ability to arbitrate, negotiate, and make high‑impact decisions.
- Precision, rigor, and strong documentation capability.
- Master's degree or engineering degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
- 8 to 15 years of experience in IT, including architecture, development, data, or infrastructure roles.
- Proven experience in large‑scale or highly complex environments.
- TOGAF certification (or equivalent) could be a strong advantage.
- Reduction of complexity and increased consistency of the whole Information System.
- Rationalisation of technologies and applications, leading to cost optimisation.
- Adherence to strategic roadmaps.
- Success of major transformation programmes (modernisation, cybersecurity).
- Improved time‑to‑market and operational performance.
