Black & Grey HR is recruiting for an established technology solutions and services provider i n Doha, Qatar. Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Information Security (Security Operations) who will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive information security program, with a specialized focus on safeguarding critical infrastructure during high-profile mega events and ongoing operations.
This role is accountable for the end-to-end strategy, architecture, and operational integrity of the organization's network security. The incumbent will ensure all network environments—on-premises, cloud, and hybrid—are resilient against evolving cyber threats through advanced design, proactive controls, and vigilant monitoring.
- Define and drive the enterprise network security strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Champion the development and implementation of key initiatives, including network segmentation, zero-trust architecture (ZTNA), and secure access frameworks.
- Own and govern security controls across the entire network landscape, including LAN / WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
- Lead the preparation and evaluation of RFPs, technical proposals, and the IT security budget.
- Lead the design and enforcement of a robust, scalable secure network architecture across all layers (core, distribution, access, and data center).
- Validate and ensure the security integrity of all new technology deployments (e.g., NGFW, IPS / IDS, WAF, DDoS protection, ZTNA, Proxy).
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies (such as SASE and micro-segmentation) to recommend and integrate security enhancements.
- Oversee critical security operations, including firewall management, rule base reviews, and the change control process.
- Direct the monitoring of network-based threats and lead incident response efforts to ensure rapid containment and resolution.
- Foster a collaborative, layered defense by working closely with the SOC, IT Infrastructure, and Application teams.
- Maintain deep domain expertise in key OEM platforms:
Cisco, Palo Alto, and Fortinet Firewalls; F5 WAF & Load Balancers; and Email Security Gateways.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network security engineers and analysts.
- Manage vendor relationships and MSSP contracts related to perimeter and network security technologies.
- Represent the network security function in internal and external audits, risk review committees, and executive-level presentations.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in network and security roles, including 5-7 years in a leadership capacity.
- Bilingual proficiency with Arabic (Mandatory).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CISSP or equivalent industry certification.
- OEM-specific certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSE or Fortinet NSE.
- Cloud security certifications (e.g., CCSP, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud security credentials).
- Strategic thinker with proven expertise in security architecture design.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in incident response.
- Proven ability to make risk-based decisions to balance security and business needs.
