About the job SQL Database Administrator
Responsibilities
- Database administration in Pre-Production & Production environments
- Performance tuning & making query optimization recommendations
- Patching of the Windows Clusters and SQL server instances they host
- Working with Technical and Solutions Architects to design and implement new SQL Server solutions using established design patterns
- Deploying new instances of SQL Server to Windows Clusters, on-premises virtual machines and Azure virtual machines
- SQL Server Backups and Restores
- Help plan and execute application database changes
- Configuration of new Transactional Replication, and new Service Broker queues
- Alerting for SQL Server Infrastructure
- Participating in an out of hours Standby Rota
- Database Security
- Mentoring other DBAs and Application Support Analysts.
