Overview
Uniforms Technical Specialist (Garment/Product Technologist) – Doha, Qatar. Corporate & Commercial family. Lead technical development of garments across multiple categories with a focus on block development, fit accuracy, construction quality, and pattern engineering. Manage a team of Product Developers and Quality Controllers to ensure consistent technical execution and quality assurance across the supplier base.
Responsibilities- Own and evolve master blocks across product categories, ensuring consistency with brand fit standards and grading logic.
- Apply advanced fitting solutions to address complex fit challenges across gender, body types, and garment categories.
- Maintain fit integrity across size ranges, ensuring garments meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
- Oversee grading rules and increments across all product types, ensuring alignment with brand sizing strategy.
- Provide expert-level pattern making guidance, including manual and digital development, adjustments, and corrections.
- Oversee the creation of detailed technical packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs, and finishing standards.
- Ensure suppliers receive clear, actionable instructions and understand garment requirements.
- Support the Manager Uniforms in embedding a robust Quality Management System (QMS) across the technical and quality functions.
- Review and interpret fabric and garment test reports, ensuring materials and finished products meet performance and safety requirements.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring quality issues.
- Manage and mentor a team of Product Developers and Quality Controllers, overseeing their workload, development, and technical output.
- Provide training and guidance on fit analysis, block development, pattern corrections, and quality control protocols.
- Degree/Diploma in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, or related field with 4 years relevant experience.
- Proven leadership in multi-product environments and technical team management.
- Experience working in a buying house or sourcing office is highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, grading, and fit analysis.
- Expertise in block development and managing fit across diverse product categories.
- Strong pattern making skills, both manual and digital.
