Job Summary

The Mill Floor Senior Operator supervises rolling mill operations on the production floor, ensuring efficient workflow, equipment performance, and high-quality steel output. The role involves coordinating with operators, assisting with troubleshooting, and managing production activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mill floor operations and supervise operators and assistants.
• Monitor rolling processes, ensuring correct bar movement, speed, and alignment.
• Troubleshoot operational issues such as jamming, misalignment, and machine faults.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance are met.
• Communicate constantly with pulpit control operators and cooling bed teams.
• Maintain daily production reports, logs, and shift records.
• Support maintenance teams during shutdowns or breakdowns.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions on the mill floor.

Requirements

• ITI/Diploma or technical qualification related to steel mill operations.
• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in rolling mill production, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of rolling sequences, equipment behavior, and steel quality requirements.
• Ability to make quick operational decisions to prevent downtime.li>
• Good leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working in high-temperature industrial environments.
