Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor (Hydraulic Specialty)

Job Summary And Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor (Hydraulic Specialty) is a technical operations expert responsible for implementing and supervising maintenance strategies at the ground level. The role oversees the execution of maintenance work on hydraulic systems and associated equipment, ensuring all activities meet job specifications, safety standards, and production targets.

The Supervisor guides trade employees, monitors job progress, and ensures adherence to company policies, values, and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements. This position also plays a key role in maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing safety procedures, conducting risk assessments, and participating in incident investigations and reporting.

Key Accountabilities
  • Apply technical skills and knowledge to ensure maintenance targets, throughput rates, and KPIs are achieved safely and efficiently, in line with the Section Plan and company values.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior consistent with company policies, standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Minimize production variability by reducing rework, optimizing costs, and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) procedures to protect and others.
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems and procedures to deliver high‑quality maintenance outcomes.
  • Perform troubleshooting and necessary repair work on all hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct performance testing on mechanical equipment and report any abnormalities.
  • Plan and maintain inventory of required spare parts and materials.
  • Provide inputs to the Senior Engineer/Superintendent (SE/SM) for work scheduling and planning.
  • Ensure all maintenance jobs are carried out according to schedules, job cards, and standard procedures.
  • Utilize materials and consumables in an efficient and economical manner.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Supervise and guide technicians and workers on maintenance activity requirements and safe work practices.
  • Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and consumables in proper working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace to ensure good housekeeping standards.
  • Obtain necessary safety permits (PTW) prior to starting work.
  • Monitor and supervise ongoing work, reporting progress and problem areas to the SE/SM.
  • Regularly update maintenance activities and reports in the SAP Plant & Maintenance (P&M) module.
  • Communicate upward regarding training needs, process improvement suggestions, and follow up on implementation.
  • Encourage team members to actively identify and report hazards in line with company safety policies.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the superior.
  • Promote personal and team wellbeing by adhering to all health and safety protocols, participating in wellness programs, and promptly reporting wellbeing concerns to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
Qualifications Education
  • 2‑year Trade Course specializing in Hydraulics from a recognized institute.
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in hydraulic maintenance (for diploma or trade course holders).
Technical Skills And Knowledge
  • Proficient in fault‑finding and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
  • Hands‑on experience in mechanical repair and maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Basic computer literacy for reporting and documentation (SAP experience preferred).
