Job Summary

The Rolling Mill Controller (CP1) is responsible for monitoring and controlling rolling mill operations from the control pulpit. The role ensures correct rolling sequences, machine settings, and production parameters for continuous and efficient mill operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the pulpit control system (CP1) for rolling mill equipment.
• Monitor rolling parameters such as speed, load, temperature, and product size.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and correct rolling sequences.
• Coordinate with mill floor operators, cooling bed operators, and maintenance teams.
• Respond quickly to alarms, stoppages, and abnormalities in the rolling process.
• Ensure detailed logging of production data and shift reports.
• Follow safety procedures, lockout-tagout processes, and emergency protocols.
• Assist during mill restarts, changeovers, and calibration activities.

Requirements

• Diploma / ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in rolling mill control pulpit operations (CP1 or CP2).
• Strong understanding of rolling sequences, passes, guide setup, and mill automation.
• Ability to interpret production specifications, machine readings, and process parameters.
• Good communication and coordination skills to manage production flow.
• Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced mill environments.
