Job Summary

The Welding Supervisor oversees all welding activities on site or in the workshop, ensuring that welding operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The supervisor is responsible for managing welders, maintaining quality control, and coordinating with other departments to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, lead, and coordinate the daily activities of welding teams.
  • Ensure welding operations comply with project specifications, codes (e.g., ASME, AWS), and safety standards.
  • Review and interpret welding drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Conduct weld inspections and maintain quality control records.
  • Monitor and enforce safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and welding equipment.
  • Train and mentor welding staff to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to plan welding schedules.
  • Report progress, issues, and workforce performance to management.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and usage of welding equipment and tools.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Welding Supervisor or Senior Welder in industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes: MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc welding, etc.
  • Familiarity with welding codes, standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in welding, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Work Conditions
  • Work in industrial environments, workshops, or construction sites.
  • May involve extended hours and adherence to strict project timelines.
