UNDP re-opened its office in Doha in 2021 to strengthen strategic partnerships with the State of Qatar, Qatar Fund for Development, and national and global stakeholders, serving as a hub for innovative and transformative development solutions.
The Partnership & Communications Associate (UN Volunteer – Specialist) will support UNDP Qatar’s partnership priorities and visibility efforts. The role combines strategic partnerships, communications, advocacy, and digital engagement
, contributing to UNDP’s positioning and outreach in Qatar and globally.
- Support the Head of Office on partnership strategies and engagements with Qatari and UNDP stakeholders
- Serve as focal point for partnership coordination across UNDP offices and national partners
- Support negotiation and preparation of partnership proposals and funding agreement templates
- Maintain partnership portfolios, databases, and performance tracking (Quantum)
- Lead development and implementation of UNDP Qatar’s communications strategy
- Manage social media platforms and coordinate content with partners
- Produce and disseminate partnership success stories, articles, and multimedia content
- Support high-level visits, strategic dialogues, and advocacy events with media coverage
- Coordinate advocacy events, UN observances, and national/international celebrations
- Produce partnership documentation, reports, lessons learned, and planning materials
- Support regular reporting, meeting documentation, and internal communications
- Contribute to UNV publications and knowledge products (English–Arabic and Arabic–English)
- Support UNV activities, onboarding, and promotion of online volunteering
- Master’s degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in partnerships and communications
- Proven experience in communications strategy, social media management, and digital content creation
- Experience organizing high-level advocacy events and working with diverse stakeholders
- Prior experience with UN agencies, government, or development organizations is an asset
Volunteer Living Allowance: currently US $ 2,880 to US $ 3,330
UN Volunteers serve full-time in their professional expertise, supported by a benefits package, including a monthly living allowance to ensure a secure standard of living at their duty stations. These allowances are not intended as compensation, reward, or salary for the volunteer's service.
