About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Food Safety & Hygiene Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with catering departments to oversee and implement food safety and hygiene standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of food production processes, facilities, and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Train and educate employees on food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of food safety programs and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Investigate food safety incidents, complaints, and non-conformities, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to ensure seamless implementation of food safety initiatives.
  • Stay informed about changes in food safety regulations and industry trends and ensure that our practices are up to date and compliant.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food safety activities, inspections, and training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma holder / Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology preferred.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., HACCP, Serv Safe) is required.
  • Proven experience in a food safety or quality assurance role within the hospitality industry. preferably in a large-scale catering operation.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and educate employees at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct audits and inspections
