Job Description:
Captain Waitress cum Supervisor
Position Summary
The Captain Waitress cum Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, and leading the service team during shifts. This role includes supervising staff, coordinating floor operations, handling guest concerns, and ensuring service standards are consistently maintained.
Key Responsibilities:Guest Service & Experience
- Greet guests warmly and ensure a personalized and pleasant dining experience.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints professionally.
- Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction and service quality at all times.
- Supervise daily service operations, including table arrangements, order taking, and food delivery.
- Assign sections and duties to service staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor cleanliness, ambiance, and hygiene standards of the dining area.
- Ensure compliance with service protocols, grooming standards, and company policies.
- Lead, guide, and motivate waiters, waitresses, and support staff during service.
- Conduct on-the-job training on service standards, menu knowledge, and guest handling.
- Provide feedback on staff performance to management.
- Ensure accurate order taking and proper communication with kitchen and bar teams.
- Check food presentation and order quality before serving to guests.
- Oversee billing procedures and ensure proper cash handling (if applicable).
- Assist in managing stock of service equipment, cutlery, menus, and supplies.
- Report shortages, breakages, or maintenance issues to management.
- Help prepare shift reports, attendance records, and incident reports when required.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safe working practices.
- Oversee staff grooming, uniform compliance, and professional behavior.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Captain Waitress or Senior Waitress in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and lead a team effectively.
- Good knowledge of F&B operations, service standards, and POS systems.
- Pleasant personality, well-presented, and professional demeanor.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
