Looking for Safety Officer / HSE Officer on DP3 Accommodation / Construction barge in Qatar.
Rotation: 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off
Date of joining: mid of February
Location: Qatar
Requirements:
- minimum 3 years as Safety Officer on offshore vessels
- experience in Qatar with QE and NOC Clients
- holding BOSIET and H2S OPITO, HERTM and HERTL OPITO certificates
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversees preventative and remedial maintenance of all LSA and FFA equipment and systems.
- Oversees and monitors the effectiveness of onboard reporting of incidents, accident, near misses and non-conformances.
- Assists the onboard medic with the reporting of medical treatment injuries.
- Continuous improvement of emergency response plans.
- Assists the Master with the continuous improvement of the TOL SBMS.
- To ensure SBMS is updated with latest revisions.
- Ensures all emergency contacts are current
- Identifies the need for and implements TOL SBMS training presentations to all personnel.
- Oversees all familiarization including record keeping and the updating of familiarization checklists.
- Ensure that an effective “T Card” or personnel tracking system is in place onboard.
- Monitors the effectiveness of familiarization and training.
- Oversees safety briefings of all non-seafaring personnel arriving onboard e.g. client’s personnel.
- Coordinates all safety activities with other safety stakeholders e.g. ensures permit to work used covers the requirements of client or dry‑dock.
- Updates muster lists, emergency plans and fire envelopes.
- Carries out frequent checks of emergency communication equipment and maintains records of these tests.
- Ensures that the bridging document is reviewed for all safety, pollution and emergency response issues.
- Monitors the inventory of all FFA, LSA and oil spill response consumables.
- Keeps register of all hazardous materials and up to date MSDS and ensures that they are assessed and control measures are in place for the safe use of them.
- Ensures all safety videos onboard are routinely shown.
- Acts as member of emergency team as dictated by Muster List.
- Compliance with the Ship Security Plan.
- Continuous improvement of Ship Security Plan.
- Interaction with port facility on security matters.
- Identifies the need for security training.
- Safe and efficient helicopter operations.
- Identifies the need for training of staff used in helicopter operations.
- Ensures helicopter operations comply with CAP
437 requirements.
