Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing the company's workers' transportation operations with the objective of achieving cost reduction and operational efficiency. This role ensures the implementation of an effective transportation plan with the minimum number of routes and drivers, while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and vehicle reliability. The Logistics Coordinator oversees preventive maintenance schedules, supervises garage performance, and ensures appropriate repair work and spare parts selection.
The role also promotes discipline among drivers through continuous communication of policies, frequent vehicle inspections, and close monitoring of driving behaviors through GPS systems.
- Develop and implement efficient transportation plans that reduce the number of routes and drivers while ensuring full coverage of operational needs.
- Analyze location data, shift timings, and transportation demands to design cost-effective and reliable route plans.
- Continuously review and adjust routes based on operational changes and workforce requirements.
- Ensure all vehicles undergo timely preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Coordinate with garages and assess their performance, ensuring accurate diagnosis, proper repair execution, and appropriate selection of spare parts.
- Maintain updated records of vehicle servicing, maintenance history, and related costs.
- Promote discipline among all drivers by regularly communicating company policies, procedures, and updates.
- Conduct frequent inspections of vehicles to ensure cleanliness, readiness, and roadworthiness.
- Monitor driver behavior and route adherence through the GPS system; generate and analyze GPS reports.
- Identify and address non-compliance immediately, taking necessary corrective actions as per company procedures.
- Stay updated on any changes in traffic rules and communicate them promptly to drivers.
- Track daily fleet movement and ensure operational issues are resolved quickly.
- Prepare regular reports on transportation efficiencies, cost savings, GPS data analysis, and maintenance activities.
- Recommend continuous improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Valid Qatari Driving License (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling complex transportation operations involving multiple shifts and locations.
- Strong experience in vehicle maintenance coordination, including scheduling, follow-up, and workshop communication.
- Good experience using GPS systems for monitoring, reporting, and performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, routing, and transportation logistics.
- Very good proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, analysis, and route planning.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with drivers, garages, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Ability to enforce discipline, manage compliance, and handle urgent operational issues.
