WhatYou’ll Lead
Service Quality and Practice Leadership:
Set and maintain a safe, nurturing and evidence‑based assessment environment. Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards and deliver consistently high outcomes.
Team Development and Culture:
Recruit, motivate and support a strong staff team. Embed reflective practice, professional curiosity and a culture of continuous learning.
Parenting Assessments:
Oversee high‑quality, analytical assessments including baseline assessments, observations, chronologies and final reports. Ensure all assessments meet PLO and family court expectations.
Safeguarding Leadership:
Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Lead on risk assessments, safety planning and multi‑agency communication.
Operational and Financial Management:
Manage budgets, occupancy, referrals and staffing. Maintain a safe, compliant and well‑run service. Build strong relationships with local authorities, CAFCASS, health professionals, police and legal partners.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willing to work towards).
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience in children’s services or social care.
- Experience completing or overseeing parenting assessments.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practice.
- Excellent communication, report writing and staff supervision skills.
- Social Work qualification (SW, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
- Experience working in a Family Assessment Centre or Mother & Baby Unit.
- Experience leading Ofsted inspections.
