Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join our North service based in the Doncaster office, covering carers in Doncaster and surrounding areas.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of work completed from home and face‑to‑face meetings with foster carers. You will join a thriving, growing community of foster carers and a team with a strong, welcoming, child‑centred ethos.

Five Rivers works from a Trauma‑informed (ATIC) model, integrating fostering, residential, clinical and education services. Teams are supported by a psychologist and a therapeutic practitioner who also act as foster support workers and business support coordinators. This, together with manageable workloads, enables social workers to provide high‑quality support to foster families.

You will directly support our foster carers with realistic caseloads, enabling a higher level of supervision, monitoring and intervention. As a supervising social worker you will work within a continually evolving trauma‑informed practice model, support recruitment events and complete Form F Assessments.

Qualifications and requirements: Registration with Social Work England and a formal social work qualification are mandatory. The role requires access to a car for visits and the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Why Five Rivers?
  • Professional social work supervision provided by a manager.
  • Group clinical supervision provided by a qualified psychologist/clinician.
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays each year.
  • Access to high‑quality training and career progression opportunities.
  • Market‑related salary plus on‑call allowance and car allowance.
  • Pension scheme and access to an employee assistance programme.
  • Perk Box discount scheme membership.
  • Enhanced maternity leave package for mothers with more than one year of service.
  • Simplyhealth membership.

Please complete your application form in full and return it to [email protected] or call option 2. If you are shortlisted you will be invited to a formal interview day to meet with our leadership team and young people.

Five Rivers Childcare is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo appropriate child protection screening, including employment references and DBS checks.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
