In this ongoing role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding children and young people through effective information sharing, screening, and risk analysis. As a MASH Social Worker
, you will be responsible for the effective screening and analysis of safeguarding concerns. Working within a fast-paced, co-located multi-agency environment, you will ensure that children and young people receive timely and proportionate responses to risk in line with statutory guidance and local thresholds.
- Receive, screen, and evaluate incoming safeguarding referrals and contacts.
- Conduct initial risk assessments to identify safeguarding concerns and appropriate thresholds.
- Apply statutory guidance and local procedures to determine outcomes such as early help, assessment, or statutory intervention.
- Gather, share, and analyse information from partner agencies including police, health, education, and early help services.
- Produce high-quality written analyses and clear professional recommendations.
- Identify cases requiring Section 17 (Child in Need) or Section 47 (Child Protection) intervention.
- Participate in strategy discussions and safeguarding decision-making meetings.
- Work collaboratively within a co-located multi-agency setting.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with statutory and partner agencies.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of MASH processes and safeguarding pathways.
