Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. We work with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and ground workers to provide above‑ground and below‑ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions and hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

Responsible for carrying out deliveries across the UK while ensuring our customers receive a first‑class impression of our organisation. You are the ‘face’ of our business – it’s all about making a good impression with your appearance, manner and the look of your vehicle. Ensuring goods are delivered in top condition, completing all necessary paperwork and leaving everyone with a positive impression of you and our business.
Responsibilities- Drive company vehicles and operate company equipment safely and in accordance with company policies, procedures and legislation.
- Carry out vehicle, load and auxiliary equipment checks prior to operation and report any defects immediately.
- Deliver goods to customer premises across the UK ensuring service levels are maintained.
- Complete all required documentation and meet special instructions as requested by the transport office.
- Return to base and submit a full debrief to the traffic office at the end of each shift.
- Undergo driving skills assessment at any time as requested.
- Comply with vehicle security and standing instructions at all times.
- Wear issued uniform and PPE at all times when on duty.
- Ensure goods are loaded in a safe, evenly distributed manner and secured appropriately in line with current legislative and guidance requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of the driving cab and vehicle condition.
- Report any accidents as soon as possible in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
- Attend essential training to carry out the driver role.
- Adhere to all company policies, including the Company Standards of Performance and Health & Safety Policy.
- Hold and maintain the necessary driving licence and vocational entitlement, notifying the Transport Manager of any changes.
- Possess LGV C (Class
2) driving licence and current CPC. - Digital Tachocard and up‑to‑date Drivers Qualification Card; full understanding of tachograph legislation.
- Effective communication with customers and co‑workers.
- Diligent attention to detail and excellent verbal communication.
- Flexibility to cover working hours and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in a customer‑facing role with good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Manual work involving loading/unloading of goods, stacking of empty pallets, coupling/uncoupling of trailers, and opening/closing of vehicle curtains.
Pay
: £14.12 per hour plus additional allowances.
Hours
: 50‑hour average week, nights included.
Holiday entitlement
: 25 days plus bank holidays.
