Consultant Ophthalmologist – Oculoplastic Service

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our Ophthalmology Service at Dorset County Hospital. This new appointment will join four consultant ophthalmologists and will lead and support our Oculoplastic Ophthalmology services. Additional subspecialty interest that complements the existing department will be considered.

• 0.7 WTE (28 hours) with possibility of additional duties.
• Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support Oculoplastic Ophthalmology services.
• Provide high‑quality care for Oculoplastic patients, working alongside the dedicated Ophthalmology team.
• Attend a 1:5 Saturday AM casualty clinic session – no other out‑of‑hours on‑call commitments.
• Engage in clinical and research development opportunities that are actively encouraged.

Qualifications & experience

• Consultant registered on the specialist register.
• Appropriate experience in Oculoplastic Ophthalmology.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
