Planner​/Buyer

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the life sciences sector, seeking an experienced Planner / Buyer to join their supply chain team. This role is critical to ensuring materials availability, production continuity, and on-time delivery in a regulated manufacturing environment.

You'll be responsible for planning production requirements and procuring raw materials, components, and consumables, ensuring demand is met while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts

• Planning and purchasing materials to support production schedules

• Ensuring on-time delivery to customer request dates

• Monitoring inventory levels to avoid shortages and excess stock

• Managing purchase orders and supplier deliveries

• Negotiating pricing, lead times, and supply terms

• Leading planning reviews and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

• Building strong supplier relationships and leading quarterly reviews with key partners

• Proven experience in planning and buying within a manufacturing environment

• Background in life sciences or a regulated industry is highly desirable

• Strong understanding of procurement, production planning, and inventory management

• Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills

• Detail-oriented, proactive, and improvement-focused

• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations or similar (APICS certification beneficial but not essential)
