Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are working with a small, specialist professional body operating within a niche international sector. It provides membership services, industry networking opportunities, and publishes sector-relevant content for a stable community of corporate members and professional individuals worldwide. With multi-currency operations and a lean internal structure, it offers a uniquely broad hands‑on finance role inside a close-knit team.

This is an ideal role for a part‑qualified accountant or someone working towards a professional qualification who enjoys hands‑on accounting and administrative responsibility in a smaller organisation.

You will support the Finance Lead with the day‑to‑day accounting operations – the nuts and bolts of the finance function, allowing him to focus on strategic work.

The role is varied, operational, and requires a solid grounding in debits, credits, bookkeeping, and financial administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily and Operational Accounting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping across the organisation
  • Process invoices, payments, receipts, and journals
  • Issue membership invoices and individual invoices
  • Manage multi‑currency transactions and balances
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and company expenses
  • Support with accounts payable and receivable
  • Manage the accounting system (Quick Books); experience essential
  • Ensure clean, organised financial data and documentation
  • Support with financial reporting data and ad‑hoc analysis for the Finance Lead
  • Assist with audit preparation and documentation for the annual year‑end process
  • Help coordinate the annual accounting exercise with external advisors
  • Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for year‑end
  • Provide administrative and financial support to senior leadership
  • Contribute to improvements in processes, controls, and efficiency
  • Work flexibly across the small team when needed
Essential
  • Part‑qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting (debits, credits, reconciliations)
  • Hands‑on bookkeeping experience
  • Quick Books proficiency
  • Comfortable working in a small organisation with a broad remit
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident managing multi‑currency transactions
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently
