Communications Systems Specialist I provides technical support for statewide communications infrastructure, including configuration, installation, repair, and maintenance of 800 MHz digital radio systems, microwave systems, and related equipment for state and municipal agencies. The role requires hands-on electronics work, troubleshooting, and customer service, with occasional travel across Delaware and support during emergencies and large public events.
Key qualifications:- Associates degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, or related field, OR relevant certification, OR one year of technical electronics work experience
- Six months experience installing and maintaining communications equipment such as analog or digital radios
- Six months experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools for radio systems troubleshooting
- Six months experience soldering and repairing electronic components to circuit board level
- Knowledge of FCC laws, rules, regulations, standards and procedures
- Valid Driver's License
