Role & Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat diseases of the urinary tract in males and females and the male reproductive system.
Manage conditions such as:
- Kidney stones
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers
- Urinary incontinence
- Erectile dysfunction and male infertility
- Evaluate congenital and acquired urological abnormalities
Perform and interpret urological investigations, including:
- Ultrasound, CT, MRI of urinary tract
- Uroflowmetry and urodynamic studies
- Cystoscopy
- PSA testing and prostate evaluation
- Diagnose and manage hematuria and voiding disorders
Perform endoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, such as:
- Cystoscopy
- Ureteroscopy (URS)
- Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
- Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP)
- Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT)
Perform open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries, including:
- Nephrectomy
- Prostatectomy
- Pyeloplasty
- Cystectomy
Conduct andrological procedures (vasectomy, varicocelectomy)
Patient Care & ConsultationProvide outpatient and inpatient care
Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, risks, and prognosis
Obtain informed consent
Provide preoperative and postoperative care and follow-up
Emergency & On-Call DutiesManage urological emergencies, including:
- Acute urinary retention
- Testicular torsion
- Renal colic
- Urological trauma
Participate in on-call duties and emergency surgeries
Administrative & DocumentationMaintain accurate medical records and operative notes
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, NABH standards, and medico-legal guidelines
Follow infection control and biomedical waste management protocols
Teaching & Research (if applicable)Train residents, interns, and nursing staff
Participate in clinical audits, research, and CMEs
Keep updated with advances in urology and surgical techniques
Collaboration & Professional ResponsibilitiesWork closely with nephrologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
Maintain ethical practice and patient confidentiality
Preventive & Counseling RolesEducate patients on stone prevention, prostate health, sexual health, and lifestyle modification
Promote early detection of urological cancers
Qualification:
MS/MD
preferably male candidates
Experience:
Post MD/ MS 4 years of experience
Salary Package 270000 INR to 700000 INR per month
