HSE Engineer

Position Overview

The HSE Engineer (Entry Level) will support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality, and Sustainability (QHSE) systems across Avanceon’s UAE operations and projects. The role aims to ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and client-specific requirements while driving continual improvement in safety, environmental performance, and sustainable practices.

• Support implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices at office and project sites.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and toolbox talks under supervision of the HSE Manager.
• Assist in preparing Job Safety Analyses (JSA),
  Permit‑to‑Work documentation
  , and Emergency Response Plans
  .
• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE Regulations
  , OSHA/NEBOSH guidelines
  , and ISO 45001 standards.
• Participate in incident reporting and investigation
  , ensuring lessons learned are communicated and tracked.
• Support in conducting HSE induction and awareness trainings for employees and contractors.

• Assist in the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System procedures at project and regional levels.
• Participate in internal QHSE audits and contribute to corrective and preventive action plans.

• Support implementation of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System requirements.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting waste management, energy consumption, water usage, and emissions data
  .
• Participate in carbon footprint measurement (ISO 14064-1) and reporting under corporate sustainability initiatives.
• Promote green practices (e.g., paper reduction, recycling, energy efficiency) within the office and at project sites.
• Assist in alignment with IFC Performance Standards (PS1–PS4) and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Support sustainability reporting and ESG data collection for internal and external disclosures.

• Maintain and update QHSE documentation including risk registers, safety checklists, and environmental records.
• Assist in preparing weekly/monthly QHSE performance reports (leading/lagging indicators).
• Ensure document control and filing of HSE permits, audits, and inspection records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in QHSE committee meetings

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in HSE, QHSE, or Sustainability (internship or project experience preferred).
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001
  , and IFC EHS Guidelines
  .
• Certification or training in NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA 30-Hour / ISO Internal Auditor will be an advantage.
• Understanding of sustainability frameworks (ISO 14064, GHG accounting, ESG) preferred.
• Excellent communication, observation, and reporting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic data analysis/reporting tools.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across UAE as required.
