Draftsman; civil

Overview

The Civil Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts for civil construction projects. The role involves collaborating with engineers and architects to produce accurate drawings that adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations.

• Prepare detailed drawings, blueprints, and layouts for construction projects.
• Convert architectural and engineering designs into precise CAD drawings.
• Develop structural, site development, and utility drawings as required.
• Ensure that drawings comply with local building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
• Modify and update drawings based on design changes, site conditions, and engineer feedback.
• Work closely with civil engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure drawings align with project requirements.
• Coordinate with MEP teams to integrate multi-disciplinary drawings.
• Assist in preparing shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings.
• Collaborate with the quantity surveying team to align BOQs and material take-offs with design specifications.
• Maintain an organized library of drawing files, revisions, and technical documentation.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings for approval and review.
• Prepare construction detail drawings, sections, and layouts to support site execution.
• Conduct self-checks and quality reviews to ensure accuracy in drawings.
• Follow company CAD standards, layer management, and file-naming protocols.
• Identify clashes, discrepancies, or design issues and report them for resolution.

• Education: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Civil Draftsman in the construction industry.

  Skills:
  
  Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and other drafting software.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, structural detailing, and site layouts.
• Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS software is a plus.
• Knowledge of local construction codes and regulations.
