Senior Procurement Engineer - Civil​/Finishes

Sobha Constructions is a fast‑growing construction company in the Middle East with a vision to be a pioneer in redefining the quality standards in construction. We are looking to hire a seasoned Procurement Engineer who can work in a fast‑paced environment and efficiently draw look‑ahead plans.

JOB PURPOSE:

To oversee the purchasing of technical goods and services for an industrial operation and have very detailed knowledge of the equipment, materials and supplies used, and are able to identify companies that sell them and evaluate suppliers and negotiate purchase agreements with them, as well as maintain the inventory of supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Analyse all suppliers to select the most suitable suppliers who can deliver high quality products at competitive pricing.

Negotiate with suppliers on lead‑time, cost and quality to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.

Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality.

Develop purchasing or sourcing strategies based on portfolio analyses and supplier preference study.

Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using market and competitive data.

Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedule to ensure on‑time deliveries of final product.

Develop, implement and drive the procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.

Review and manage the supplier base to ensure consistency with the sourcing strategy.

Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.

Create monthly performance reviews and reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements.

Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions.

Adopt appropriate supplier management methodologies and procurement strategies in purchasing to secure better prices.

Train the procurement team on effective procurement processes and strategies.

Coordinate with vendor on continuous quality improvement.

Ability to analyse bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements.

Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with contract manufacturers and suppliers.

Identification of all requirements in requisition for purchase issued by design department.

Maintain the BOQ with updates from suppliers until after awarding the contract.

Receiving the price quotations (competitive quotes), prepare schedule of comparison & tracking and expediting of shipment.

Handle delivery and inspection of items.

Regularly train on company development programs.

• MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering. Post Graduate in Management program.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in large construction/real estate/project development industry of which minimum 2 years of experience in GCC.
