Lead Quality Engineer
Location:

Role OverviewThe Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving and implementing quality assurance and quality control activities across onshore EPC projects covering multi-disciplinary scopes such as Static, Rotating, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation. The role requires strong expertise in international codes and standards, inspection methodologies, and quality systems, ensuring all project deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and client requirements. The position demands leadership skills to guide QA/QC teams, coordinate with engineering and construction teams, and maintain a robust quality framework throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Quality Plans, ITPs, Method Statements, and Quality Control procedures.
- Oversee and guide QA/QC teams across Static, Rotating, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines.
- Review engineering documents, vendor deliverables, material certificates, and quality records to ensure compliance.
- Conduct quality-related audits, inspections, and surveillance at fabrication shops, vendor sites, and project locations.
- Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, IEC, ISO, and client specifications.
- Identify non-conformities, raise NCRs, and support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure quality requirements are fully integrated.
- Review welding procedures, NDT procedures, material selection, and equipment inspection reports.
- Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and compilation of Quality Dossiers / MDR / Final Handover Documentation.
- Provide technical support during testing, commissioning, and pre-startup activities.
- Participate in client meetings, third-party inspections, and interface coordination.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold safety and quality culture across the project.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in QA/QC within Oil & Gas / EPC onshore projects.
- Strong exposure to Static & Rotating Equipment, Piping Systems, Electrical Systems, and Instrumentation Packages.
- Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, AWS-CWI, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ASNT Level II (RT/UT/MT/PT) are preferred.
- Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and approving Quality Plans, ITPs, and Inspection Procedures.
- Familiarity with EPC workflows including Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC processes, international codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Expertise in inspection techniques for welding, NDT, fabrication, equipment installation, and electrical/instrumentation systems.
- Excellent documentation, reporting, and audit management skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced EPC environments.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying risks, resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office, QMS tools, and document management systems.
